As Smartcheck is provided via a website, there are few technical limitations that should impact your choice of devices, however we offer some guidance below to help you in your selection.
Tip: We recommend you opt for a newer model/modern device, rather than utilising older, possibly slower technology you may already have laying around... Good internet speed, a reliable WIFI network and good general system performance will contribute to a better user experience for your workshop team.
- Operating Systems: We have tested Smartcheck on both Android and iOS mobile phones and tablets. We don’t have a preference, so this should be personal choice for the user / workshop.
- Browser: We have a preference of using Chrome, as it provides the most consistent user experience.
- Tablet size: This is also user-preference, but we would like to highlight that a 10inch tablet is fine if just used for SmartCheck, but if you will also look up parts and technical specs on the same device, you may want a larger sceen size.
- Device Protection: We strongly recommend a rugged case to protect the device, and a screen protector to mitigate damage from greasy hands and scratching
- Modern mobile phones with a 6-inch screen are fine for completing Smartcheck checksheets
WIFI Networks
The workshop WIFI range can be an issue if there are dead spots. Alternatives to fix this are:
- You could hotspot the tablet to a mobile device
