This is not a SAM or ORION issue and has been caused by a windows update

Renaming Machinekey Folder


On the PC with the error click on  C: (1) > ProgramData (2) > Microsoft (3)

Click on  Crypto (1) > RSA (2) > and re-name the ‘MachineKeys’ folder.

Rename Folder Machinekeys to Machinekeys_Old. 


NB: You may need administrator permission to rename.  Contact your IT if you do not have this

Cant see the ProgramData Folder?

 

Sometimes you may not be able to see the ProgramData Folder.   


Click on View (1) > Options (2) > Change Folder and search options (3)

Click on View (1)> Tick Show hidden files, folders, and driver (2) > OK (3)

NB: In most cases you can log into SAM/ORION without any errors.  


 

Crypto Folder Permission


 If you are still getting the Crypto error 

  • Repeat the renaming of the Machinekey Folder &
  • Give Crypto Folder permission for Everyone to read/write


NB:
Some of the steps listed below will slightly increase the vulnerability of the PC they are done on and as such it is HIGHLY recommended that you consult with your IT/PC hardware professional if you are at all unsure about anything.

 

On the PC with the error click on  C: (1) > ProgramData (2) > Microsoft (3)

Highlight the "Crypto" Folder (1)> Right Click (2) > Click on Properties (3)

Click on Security Tab (1) > Click on Edit (2)> Highlight Everyone (3)> tick all the boxes downwards (4) > Apply (5)
